Elites R Cannibals – Poem

Don’t believe a thing they say
Rich and powerful had their day
Have your pitchforks at the ready
Elites are few and we are many

3 decades thieving from us peasants
Using propaganda for things unpleasant
Now farming us like animals
REBEL !!  Resist these cannibals

All history proves we will win
Against this enemy within
Now’s the time to decide
How violent will be this turning tide!!

Simon What You Forgot

Simon What you forgot
Poor suffering and dying not our lot

Simon What you forgot
The people found out your evil plot

Simon What you forgot
Justice and right will stop your rot

Simon What you forgot
Karma coming to cruel greedy snot

Simon What you forgot
The tears of the poor will get you lot!

New Poem – TAKE HEART

Take down those crusty paintings
Refined heART upon the wall
Take down those crusty paintings
In office, house and hall

Take stock of our priorities
Remember why we live
Take stock of our priorities
And what we have to give

Take heART the world is waking up
Peace and justice will soon reign
Take heART the world is waking up
To the class war game

Take over our courts and parliaments
Put new heART upon the walls
Take over our courts and parliaments
Until this Oligarchy falls

Wairarapa Police The Devil’s Right Arm

In response to being assaulted with handcuffs by police last week.  I will be writing this on back of wallpaper and stapling up in Masterton and chalking around the streets.  Have asked for a meeting with the local new police inspector here and anybody else of a pay grade that can get an investigation into ACC etc under criminal negligence.

Handcuffs are not a weapon

Police are not there to harm

Freedom of speech is a right under law

Local police now the Devil’s right arm!

Snow Kissed Air

A southerly roars through the trees
Snow has dusted the Tararua peaks
Tui’s song so crisp and full in the snow kissed air
The roar heralding change of season

Winter has arrived leaves are mostly upon the earth, the lawn the street
Most beautiful duvets laid out beneath each tree
Who has sacrified its leaf for winger in a blaze of autumn glory
Leaving naked bodies, limbs, hair

While conifer and native stand strong against winter’s embrace
Dressed in fullest green, safe haven for the indigenous souls of this ground

Beneath snow kissed air pathway ponds reflect the long blule sky
Most perfect reflection of Wairarapa heavens

Beneath snow kissed air fungus boldly disply their magical beauty
Like creatures from another space, another times
Dying mystical expression of wood, of trees

Aoteroapururangi kihia ai e te
Land of the long blue sky and snow kissed air

My Lifes in Boxes

My life’s in boxes little pieces
A wreckage on these hostile beaches
On TV paper radio
No-one says the things I know

The gods of war fight sick & poor
PR stands guard at every door
They numb the masses to the harm they cause
Tell me and others ‘the fault’s all yours’

Someone made a big mistake
Gave power and glory to those who take
Its social problems they created
Loved the rich & poor they hated

Our leaders ears are painted on
Responsibility they run from
Focus on what’s bright and new
Degrade, despise, reject the few

And those who call the good to action
Are considered some sort of loony faction
Where have this country’s morals gone
Protect the weak, curtail the strong

Take Heart – Poem – sell your old art to fund political justice campaigns

Someone on twitter is selling some famous art to help fund Greens campaign – this is a poem I wrote about my friend Richard who sold some old artworks of his and funded my political activism for several years.  Love you Richard.

TAKE HEART

Take down those dusty paintings
That fine art upon the wall
Take down those dusty paintings
In bedroom, lounge and hall

Take them to a Trade Me auction
Pass them on to someone new
Take them to a Trade Me Auction
Help to free the poorest few

Take stock of your priorities
Remember why you live
Take stock of your priorities
Who will benefit from what you give

Take heart the world is waking up
Peace and harmony will soon reign
Take heart the world is waking up
To those playing the class war game

Take over our courts and parliaments
With the dusty art upon your walls
Take over our courts and parliaments
Until this oligarchy falls

Graffiti artist – REFUSE – New Zealand

Inspired by the Graffiti art exhibition in Tauranga and the BANKSY works I’ve been turning my poetry and words into pieces of visual art.  Chose the name ReFuse as my tag name, I like the multiple meanings.  Photos on my facebook page www.facebook.com/jrmurphypoetmusician and twitter @jrmurphypoetry

Today I’m off to Wellington for a bit of guerrilla activism and a cap I pimped with graffiti, going to leave it somewhere interesting, take photos and post tonight.

Trust House Terrorists – Heart of the Darklands

This poem that could see me / homeless in the street
For standing up to neo-liberals / crushing poor beneath their feet

They wrap themselves in charity / to cover what they do
Take from the poor, give to the rich / persecute us, not you

Rich and powerful love to build / monuments to their greed
Extravagant sports and arts supporters / and crumbs for those in need

When there’s a housing crisis / they buy a pub or two
Give more to corporate welfare / help fund a giant screw

A hockey turf, a rugby ground / a running track and more
Build a home for businesses / while people knock at their door

Trust House terrorists surround themselves / with the luxuries of life
They’ve never lived for years on end / under the neo-liberal knife

My heart bleeds for the things I see / that nobody will admit
Those that say we should trust / leaders who are not fit

You’ve been radicalised, you’re ignorant / propaganda tells you what to think
While after 30 yrs of this hell / those suffering are on the brink

Disabled poor and abused / cry themselves to sleep
Hoping they will die soon / knowing God their soul will keep

There is no hope in this tragic place / no safety net, not here
Death Valley, Wairarapa / heart of the darklands and of fear
